Frequently asked questions about MyBudgetHub.
How do I get started?
Create an account, then fill in Income, Fixed costs and Extra expenses (categories with limits). Fixed costs and income are booked by themselves on the set day of the month. You add variable spending with the “Add transaction” button. Want to see how it works? On an empty Dashboard load the sample data.
How does an Administrator differ from a Member?
The Administrator manages the whole budget (plan, limits, wealth, settings, users). A Member sees the whole budget and adds and edits only their own transactions. Member accounts are created by the Administrator in Settings → Access and roles.
How do limits and alerts work?
Each category has a monthly limit (0 = no limit). When the threshold (80% by default) is exceeded and when the limit is exceeded you get a notification (the bell in the top bar). You can change the threshold in Settings → Financial preferences.
How do I import expenses from CSV?
Use “Import CSV”. The file: columns Date;Name;Category;Type;Amount;Status;Note (separator semicolon or comma, date DD.MM.YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD, amount e.g. 1 234,56). We'll create missing categories automatically, and the categorization rules will fill in the empty ones.
What is the “budget month start”?
If your salary arrives on e.g. the 10th, set the month start to the 10th — periods will be counted from the 10th to the 9th of the next month in all reports.
How do I secure my account?
In Settings → Security you can turn on two-step verification (a code from an app) and download one-time recovery codes. You can also sign out of all devices.
Where is my data and how do I make a backup?
Data is stored in the cloud (Supabase, EU region), and within the App only the members of your budget can access it; details are in the Privacy Policy. You can download a backup with the “Save file” button (JSON) or turn on an automatic monthly backup in Settings → Data and backups.
Does the app give investment advice?
No. Simulations and suggestions are general budgeting principles based on your numbers, not investment or financial advice. It's worth consulting a licensed adviser about investment decisions.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen choose “Forgot your password?” and enter your e-mail. If you have two-step verification turned on and have lost your phone, use a recovery code.
